Title: Carter Button Top ID
Post by: DTruitt on November 28, 2010, 12:10:58 AM
I picked up a few Carter Button Top fuel pumps today and I'm not having much luck identifying the application for each.

4193S  w/ 14M6A date- CARbureTER MADE in USA- I know this to be a '67 289 pump

All of the following are CARbureTER MADE in USA canister type pumps.  Most of the stamped numbers are clear; however, a few are the typical light stamp and could be a different number.

3908

3909SA

3910SA

4194S (I know the later non canister type 4194S is for the 390, but these are all the canister type)

3576SB is an X type two piece unit with canister.

Any help identifying these pumps would be appreciated

Will give it a try (In no cases did the book list an A at the end but have seen this on some replacement pumps also)

3908 - Could not find it listed in the book I checked

3909SA - Listed in the book as a Big Ford 65 352 & 39 or 66 Torino 390

3910SA - Listed in the book as a 65-6 T Bird 390 & 428

4194S (I know the later non canister type 4194S is for the 390, but these are all the canister type)
Found the same listing but did the 66 Fairlane use the canister? Did find one of the applications as a 390 in one of those

3576SB is an X type two piece unit with canister. Might be an industrial application - was not listed
