Guys,
I pulled the driveshaft out of my Jan '66 C code auto car and found a couple deep grooves in the front driveshaft yoke "nose" (piece that goes up into the transmission tailshaft). I don't like how it looks so I'd like to buy a nice one from someone and put back one in better condition. If you have one laying around you'd like to sell can you email me?

P.S. - My Jan '66 driveshaft has the inside clip for the U-joints versus the outside clips found on earlier '65s.

you should also consider replacing the bushing & seal in the tailshaft. if the yoke is buggered up so is that bushing. it takes a special tool to r&r the bushing.

I have an NOS 28 spline yoke. Let me know which one you're looking for and I'll compare to what I have. It's not boxed or with a part number, just has a casting number on it.

Charles,
I can't really make out the casting as it's so poorly ingraved - so I'm hesitatant to give any numbers. All I can say is that this yoke appears to be of the 28 spline variety. It's out of a January '66 automatic that has the "inside clip" style U-joint retainers.

I checked the yoke I have, it's setup for outer locks.

Just for reference I looked at the yoke. THe part number casting is poor and hard to read but what I found legible was "22083-3N"...
