finally off to paint
« on: May 27, 2015, 03:22:49 PM »
I finished up the blocking on my first restoration project and plan to paint on June 1st.  It has been seven long and sometimes painful years to get to this point.  I want to thank everybody here who has generously offered their expertise and guidance.  Also a big thanks to the ones who have sold me parts.  I will make sure and post some pics once I have the car back together.

Thank you!

David,

Some "before" pics would be cool, too.

We are very excited I didn't think this day would ever come.  I have sanded so much the last few weeks I don't think I could be finger printed.  I will post some photos before paint and after.  Good luck with your paint Marty.

Here are before and after photos of my car I painted a few weeks ago.  I'm still having troubles believing it's painted.

After the last coat of paint

And here he is tucked away safe at home in the garage

Thanks again to everybody to get me to this point!

Thanks the last few weeks have been pretty fun slowly putting it back together, hoping to be done by the middle of August.

Wow it looks just great! I have to admit I am just a bit partial to Acapulco blue. Have fun with the assembly.

Looks great!  I know how excited you are. I'm in the interior install of a resto-mod myself. It is a Chevy though. (I can say "Chevy" on here without having armed thugs show up at my door, right?)  ;)
I'm looking forward to seeing progress pics.  Here are a couple pics of what I'm up to just so you guys know I'm not a slacker:
