« on: May 05, 2010, 12:46:30 PM »
Are the front windshields date coded like the rest of the glass on a 65 San Jose Fastback (built 10/29/64).?

Sounds good.  So the logo on the front windshield will look like the rest of the glass correct?  Asking cause trying to find a replacement glass and might have to have it made by a company called Pilkington glass.  NPD doesn't believe their glass has a date code on it.  Does anyone know this for a fact?

The etching will be slightly different from the side/back glass, but the date code is the same format (e.g., 5L = November '65)

Charles would it be possible for you to post a picture of the logo?  Also would carlite be read from the inside or the outside?

Thanks Charles, one last question...my doors and fly windows are stamped 4J and the back glass is stamped 4K...what would be your best guess as to what the windshield would be stamped?

If you don't know what it was, then yes, just pick something close to the other glass.
