I wish the Autolite ones had brass terminals. The aluminum ones oxidize too quickly.

I found some older reproduction distributor caps with the brass terminals at a "Distributor Re manufacturer's" website. I'll look into "where" I got one and get back to you. (It wasn't priced as good as these, and quite frankly, you could buy two of these for about the same AND these would be more Concours in design)

Not only again but new and improved .The old repro had the wrong spacing of letters and easy to recgonize as the repro once you knew what to look for.  I saw Danial Carpenter at Ford Carlisle last year and he was asking me about the caps .Ed Meyer had brought me up to speed on the 67 /early 68 and later 68/69 version caps  "Gaines whats the difference in the Autolite caps? Ya didn't know did ya, yaeh" -he never misses a opportunity ::). I relaid the info to Danial as well as a my opinion that both styles be produced. I was surprised to see them now i just need to get may hands on some to compare with originals. If past Carpenter efforts are any indication I am expecting a very good copy.

This was much needed and happy to see this being reproduced again.  A good part to reproduce since so many cars will be able to use it....

Heres the one I got. Its not an Autolite but looks identical without the Autolite script. Standard FD 129. I miss spoke above it does not have brass terminals but has copper instead.
It doesn't oxidize like the aluminum ones.

Using the compatibility chart the seller provides that cap is not correct for a 65 or a 69 mustang.  Brian

From Ford Car Parts, 1975 edition.
7HA-12106-A (DH-4) 6 CYL
B7A-12106-A (DH-6) V-8
The one shown is reported to have an Autolite/Motorcraft number of FD 129 but no Ford part number is referenced. There's the clue, look for the correct part number.

You mean that you can't trust Ebay ads   ::)

Guess we've run this thread well off course in an effort to help though it might detract from the original purpose it was meant to serve

Originals had aluminum
to go along with Jeffs post -and worked for 10's of thousands of miles on millions of cars without a TSB or engineering change  ;) .
