Offered here is a used original Master Cylinder cap for 1967, 1968 and probably at least early 1969 Mustangs. The applications are based on both the Article in CMF's Library on Master Cylinder Caps, by Marcus Anghel, and the 1967 and 1968 Ford Specifications Books, both of which note that the Brake Fluid is SAE 70R3. For the 1969 application. Marcus' Article notes that "sometime in 1969", Ford changed to "SAE J 1703" Brake fluid. I do not have a 1969 Specifications Book, but based on my other resources, I found the first reference to "SAE J 1703" brake fluid to be in the January, 1969, Ford Shop Tips. Based on the two resources for the J 1703 fluid, it would seem possible that the 70R3 cap could have been used at least until January of 1969, or even until the end of the Model Year if Ford decided to wait until the 1970 Model Year before making changes. In either case, I'll leave the determination of the applicability of this cap for 69's to those who are more familiar with 1969 Models than I.
The cap offered here (shown in the attached pictures) has been bead blasted, which revealed no evidence of pitting, and given a light coat of primer to help protect it from any oxidation. Ready for you to take to the plater and/ or paint.
