In the 20+ years of reading various Mustang and Ford forums, I've never seen Bob Mannel post anything.  Has anyone actually met him in person?  You'd think that someone with the encyclopedic inventory of arcane Ford knowledge would be well known.  Yet, I've never run across him in all this time.  Just curious; he would be a very welcome addition to this forum.

He has posted time to time on online forums.  He was big into the Fairlane club, not sure if he still is.

Bob visited my place when he was researching the book. Took a lot of pictures.  I also met Bob a few times at Ford events. A wealth of knowledge.

We have to realize that not everyone wants to spend the time answering and discussing points on the web. Some will tell you that is the reason they wrote a book in the first place :)

Know a number of people with allot to offer but they just don't want to get involved or spend their time this way.

Like Charles I've seen him post a few times on Mustang forums over the decades but very few.

Unless you're only working on big block cars, Bob's book is a must-have for reference regarding small block Ford V8's.

Technically, the book only covers small block V-8's - 221, 260, 289, 289HP, and 302, through 1969. Excludes Boss 302 and unfortunatley 351W.

He is very busy restoring a couple of very neat Fairlanes.

His attention to detail and documentation are unlike anything I've ever seen.

He is very humble and knowledgeable.

I have met him and he is still big into Fairlanes.  He was editor of the Fairlane magazine and more but stepped down to spend more time on his projects. His wife Jane was a big part of the Fairlane club too.   Great people.

Should have been paying more attention. He posted on VMF 18 years ago. Your memory is failing.  ;)
