Value of OEM Hood & trunklid
« on: February 11, 2011, 08:29:38 PM »
On my '68 SJ fastback, the hood and trunklid framework were pretty badly rusted in a couple of areas and I wound up using repro parts.

My question is this - do these parts have any date code information on them, and is there any chance that someone doing a numbers matching restoration might want/need them?  They could be repaired, I just didn't have the time or motivation.

If they might do someone some good restoring their very rare S-Code A/C convertible or something I might post them somewhere, but if there is no way to associate these body parts to a specific date range, I'll probably just scrap them.

Thanks,

Andrew

Yes they have date code stamped on the inner liner. Rather than repairing some are simply cutting out the date code and welding them back on a better/perfect trunk lid

Always welcome to post an ad in the Parts for Sale section

Thank you Jeff, that was the kind of information I was looking for.
