Washer jets, what color is the plating?
« on: March 26, 2011, 01:17:35 PM »
Although I still have my genuine factory washer squirters, I bought NOS/service replacement ones a long time ago.  As anything NOS/service replacement, maybe they are not the factory supplied color. And they now look a little weathered.  Since I'm likely to get these replated, what is the correct color?
This is for a late 1966 built in San Jose 67 Shelby

Rod ,I believe the ones on your early car were silver color. The later 67 squirter changed to the different finish (like a gun blueing or black oxide)when the squirters were changed to the different improved design. I have a feeling based on observations the change happened around May 67 sometime plus or minus. I haven't checked the MPC to see if there is a before or after date on the squirters. The change is most commonly associated with 68 but like many items Ford didn't wait for a model year change to start using a improved design. Bob
