Deck Lid Date Code - too close to build date?
« on: October 17, 2022, 06:56:09 PM »
I'm looking at a replacement deck lid for my March 17 Dearborn Built 1969 Convertible, and found one with a March 13 date code.

Is this too close to the build date to be correct?

Thanks in advance.

Would be questioned and would not be what I would choose if I was looking for one since they were not stamped at Dearborn but typically for that plant and year at Cleveland so you have to consider loading, shipping, unloading at Dearborn, inventorying and such. Shortest example I have from Dearborn in 1969 is twelve days

In a related comment there are some times two dates that can be a month of so apart also.

Hope this helps

That's what I thought, but thought I'd check.

Thanks, Jeff
