Horsepower/Torque graph for 302 from any source?
« on: July 04, 2011, 11:34:42 AM »
Does anyone have a torque and horsepower graph that pertains to a 302 or a 289 passenger car engine?  Curious at what RPM peak torque is developed and seeing how broad the torque band is on small V8 engines of this era.  Information of this type may have been printed in automotive magazines of that time or maybe someone has some official Ford information.  Thanks!

Murf,
I don't believe there is a general horsepower and torque graph for the 302 and 289 available.  An actual graph depicting horsepower and torque will vary greatly between both engines and depending on set up (carb., intake, etc.) and would only be available if you were to have your engine measured on a dyno.

I had my car on a dyno after the engine rebuild back in 2001.  Max RPM 4800.  The set up is stock.  The engine was bored 60 over.  OE carb, intake and mild cam. Four speed/3:00 rear end.  5RO9A.  Brian
