Same here, I do not give up in searching.

Pls note:
The deluxe horn pad for the woodgrain wheel I'm looking for is a bit higher (deeper) than the standard one (about 1/2 inch appr.) and has no hole on the backside.

Thx
Ralf

Ralf, I checked mine and can confirm that the deeper deluxe horn pad has no (or in my case a very shallow) hole compared to the standard wheel type.  I measured the difference and would say close enough to 1/2" to say it is exactly that. I can also say that they are very hard to find.  I buy them every time I have a chance within reason.   In other words besides the one for my car I have no extra.  Made an offer on one for $75 to test the water, the reply was something along the lines of "no way" but with no counter offer.  I did not pursue it.

Could you pls post the height of each?

So, hopefully there will be someone selling this part to me :-)

What Deluxe Wheel did you find? Original? NOS? Restored? Reproduction?
Just curious.

There have been some reproductions put onto the market that miss the mark pretty bad (IMHO).
Like most things about hese cars, once you know what is "right", it can be difficult to settle for anything else.

Original, very good shape, no cracks, no pitting. But no horn button.

Therefore I'm looking for a NOS or very good condition horn pad (tall version in black).

Do you have one?

(Could buy a repro for about $80, but currently not my intention)

Thx Ralf

Nice! Hard to find original in that description on the market

No "DELUXE" (taller) type to spare or sell. I have only one and it will be going onto my car.

I am not aware of any reproduction of the taller version. I have seen multiple sources of the standard (shorter) version. If there is a reproduction of the taller one, where is that, if you do not mind sharing the information.

The correct taller version should stick out slightly from the outer wood wheel when installed, as seen pictured below. The STANDARD, or shorter version, will not be seen past the outer ring on a wood wheel, it would be recessed below the wood wheel ring. Really easy to spot the wrong center installed on a car once you know this. I suppose, this could be seen as splitting hairs, but Ford must have done this for safety reasons or they wouldn't have made it different.

I did not say a taller repro. I said a repro. This repro is of course the 1/2" shorter one.
If I don't find it, I gonna buy the repro one. Here in GER nobody will notice the difference.

However, maybe there is someone out here who is gonna sell this part.
Thx
