Title: Fan shroud rubber pad
Post by: Kliz66K on April 26, 2010, 04:07:10 PM
My Dearborn 66 K Conv. with a March 66 build date has no rubber pad on the fan shroud. Is it possible some cars around this build date didn't have pads? Are there any factory markings on shrouds to tell if they're factory originals?

BTW- I've looked at 3 other unrestored 66 289's and none have pads.

In order to comply with MCA judging rules, I'll attempt to affix an appropriate piece of rubber to my shroud rather than try to document the absence of a pad. Anyone have photo that shows correct staple size, arrangement, etc.?

Thanks
Bill

The production was subbed out I believe so the typically sheet metal date and plant stamps are missing from what I recall

Here are a couple of pictures I hope will help - from an early service part

Thanks Jeff!
Photos are very helpful. Pad looks to be about 1/8" thick.
