Looking to remove my driveshaft to detail and pull out the rear end and want to plug the transmission shaft to minimize the loss of fluid. What size plug should be used on a C4 1965 transmission?
Thanks

I believe NPD offers a set of assorted plugs for capping output shaft housings.

That's what I have but I don't want to play the guessing game under the car with fluid leaking. Thought I'd see what the size is I should have ready.

I have an FE with a top loader. They are not numbered, but I can tell you I picked up the plug I have from Oreily's. You could take a dial caliper and measure your slip yoke. That should give you reference size.

I normally just have extra yokes around that I can use as a plug. Not something everyone else may have laying around though

Powerhouse Products Transmission Tailshaft Plugs POW301230, found this plug at Summit Racing, I had something like this at one time, one end or the other fits.
