Title: Sound example 64 1/2 Transverse Dual Exhaust
Post by: michaelvonlanthen on October 26, 2017, 06:50:51 AM
Being in the decision about purchasing a dual Exhaust for my D-Code I am looking for a sound file from a 64 1/2 289 with the transverse dual exhaust. As posted in previous topics, I have such an exhaust, but missing the resonaters and middle part. Current system is for my taste too loud on higway speed (and also too loud for the Swiss DMV ;-) I would like to know how loud the original transverse dual exhaust would be. As an alternative I am thinking about putting the "normal" dual exhaust, which was produced beginning March 1965..

What is your opinion about that?

Thanks a lot,
Michael

Put back on what is original to the car. - My vote  :)

When restoring its not about what I or any builder likes its about how it was built... or we would be changing colors, options, ......... and then its not a restored car  ;)  You asked

I don't think he'll go back to single exhaust.  :)

You are right Charles..:) Besides the dual exhaust and a passenger outside mirror (still looking fort a NOS one), I will keep the car in original factory correct condition.

I actually plan to drive it during summer months and I will have great fun with the dual exhaust.
