Title: 1968 GT - Do all louvered hoods have turn signals?
Post by: mungus on October 28, 2017, 07:32:32 PM
A question about whether or not my car should have the hood turn signals...

My Metuchen March 68' GT S code has the louvered hood with the little pot metal cast vents.
However I cant find any sign of the vent grilles, turn signal units or the associated wiring harness.
The original louvered hood was replaced with a 1993 NOS Ford factory unit, so perhaps the PO tossed the wiring and lights then?
(However the little pot metal vents did come with the car).

My MARTI report sheet says "functional louvered hood". But does "functional" mean it turn signals or just that it vents engine bay air overboard? I've read somewhere here about pre and post strike 68' cars having the turn signals as standard (or not).

I'm guessing someone here knows... :-)

Yes they all had functional turn signal lights from the factory. John

Thanks John.
Looks like I'm up for a set of parts then...
