Title: Fan spacer size

Can anyone confirm a fan spacer length for a 66 c code no ac/ps. I keep coming up with conflicting answers. Thanks.

The spacer you need is 3.15 inches long as measured from the mounting surface to the water pump pulley to the TIP of the centering pin for the fan blade. (The tip is 5/8 inch dia. Can't miss it.) This is a common error in determining the correct spacer (ask Bob Gaines). Most people would measure mounting surface to mounting surface (It took me a while too). Ford didn't. The dimensions include the tip. There is no part number marked, only "Ford in an oval" logo on the tip, and no date code. There is a mold ID on the outside of the base, the one in front of me is the letter "A".

Ryan : Based on your Build Date, and the 1960-68 Master Parts Catalog, your Spacer should be a C50Z-8546-A, 3.15" thick, including the pilot (as Jim mentioned). Prior to 11/22/65, it would have been a C20Z-8546-A, 3.22" thick. Interestingly, this same Part Number was also used for 1967 and 1968's with no A/C or TE.
