Yes, Tim seems to be out of business.  Sorry.
I had heard that a family member was very sick and he was concentrating on being a care giver.

As I continue to approach the "engine"portion of my project and since the common understanding is that Tim will no longer be providing his restoration services, has anyone actually had a vacuum advance restored (including zinc plating) by one of the other reccomended suggestions? I have read that some are setting up the advance curve but I have not found anyone restoring the whole distributor, including diaphragm replacement and plating of the original advance parts.

His website seems to indicate you can still reach him by email and under "new parts" it appears you can still buy one of his restored Autolite advances:

I bought one from him a couple of years ago and have been happy with it. All this after giving up trying to find a usable core and then someone to plate it and restore the diaphragm if needed.

Risky business, I know...Sending a Paypal Payment with NO CONTACT INFO available? Hmmm....

Since I trusted Tim, just a gut feeling is all, I went ahead and emailed him and he DID answer back.
STILL "closed", but offers assistance based on a case-by-case need. No longer doing all of the services he once did.
