Title: Dark Blue Metallic/Nightmist Blue Formula for 1966-1967
Post by: kkupec02 on June 19, 2020, 12:59:23 PM
I have a 1967 dark blue metallic car painted once back around 1980. Looking for paint to do touch ups and eventually repaint car. Not looking for a perfect match of current paint, just the right factory color for down the road total repaint. So right now I guess you would say I am shopping for the right eventual color. I painted my 1966 convertible same color around 1999 in lacquer. I don't have the formula anymore. I remember it to be like the current color of the fast back that I now have. I had a paint shop do a computer match 2 stage using the hood and it came out too dark with not enough metallic. I then ordered a 1 stage using paint shops factory formula book. Too light. I then ordered a 2 stage using paint shops factory formula book. Darker, but still way too light. Does anyone have a good original looking shade of this color that I can get a picture of the formula label? I can then have paint shop mix me up a test. Thanks.

My car was painted in 1996 and the paint used was from PPG.
It is very dark blue and looks black in twilight.  I am not certain this version is still available at the paint stores.
