Anyone have any info on how many 71 429 convertibles were built with C or J code engines? What would a restored one be worth??
-
All of those types of statistics are in Kevin Marti's book: "Mustang by the Numbers".
I am at work right now, so I don't have access to it. Buy the books, I also recommend Kevin's other book "Mustang and Cougar Tagbook"

10 C's, 32J's. Only 1 4-speed C.

C's always seem to be the rarer of the two in any of the car lines I believe.
Since there are so few finding what a "current" value is very difficult since very few data points to pull information from at any given time.
Though you see some Mach I's come up for sale and a few XR7's can't recall the last Mustang Conv I saw for sale. Would expect any pricing guide to be of little value for the same reasons

Here is a link to the 429CJ Megasite. http://429mustangcougarinfo.50megs.com/statistics.htm (http://429mustangcougarinfo.50megs.com/statistics.htm)
It indicates that 8 of those 429CJ convertibles were Drag Packs or 429 Super Cobra Jets.
