68 Snorkel

I have, I think, a 68 Cougar air cleaner snorkel.  It seems to have an engineering stamp  C8WF-9A626 ?  Could be wrong  about that and it may be C9 ? The dimensions are the same as any 68-69 390 Mustang ?  Mounting surface is at 5" centers so too big for a 428. Over all length is 10.25".  Any info to share would be appreciated.  Thanks,  Brian

1968 Mustang and Cougar X-code - 390-2V. Also fairly common on F series pickups with 360/390 engines.

Thank you.  Never seen one of these with the C8WF stamp.  The 8" snorkel section containing springs , S tube adapter and flapper is identical to the much prized 69 CJ Snorkel.  Brian

With a few alterations can be made to fit onto a 69 CJ air cleaner base and appear correct.  Could be an option or an alternative to the after market reproductions ?  Will never deceive a CJ admirer. Brian
