Power steering control valve spool

I am rebuilding the P/S valve on my 69 Mach 1. I noticed that the spool is available from aftermarket suppliers. How often do these wear out? Mine has some wear marks, and curious if this will affect performance and if it should be replaced.

From my experience as long as there is no pitting or burrs/gouges on it from wear. Make sure it moves freely in the bore. Then you are good to reuse.

Thanks Dave. I used the original and it works fine.
