On Bring a Trailer, Correct gauge cluster?
« on: September 08, 2021, 05:59:10 PM »
There's a 1965 Fastback currently on BAT with a unique background. It's a good read, and the photos are well done. Lots of things about this car are questionable, but for me the gauge cluster appears the same as a 1966 production car. Did "K" code 65's come with the round gauges?

Here's a link to the auction:    https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1965-ford-mustang-fastback-103/

And a photo of the gauge cluster.

Thanks

It's a deluxe interior car, called out on the door plate, so that's the correct gauge cluster.

The engine type had nothing to do with the gauge type, other than a standard interior GT (A or K code) would have had a 5 dial cluster like the wood grain one, except it would have black camera case inserts instead of wood grain.

You may not have seen one before since the deluxe interior was only available for part of the production year in 65

The gauge bezels are unique pieces for two different applications (GT or deluxe interior)  and in turn finished differently as Charles described
