Beautiful car, Nice resto.. Just wondered about two things...Since the car was a 64 1/2.. Would'nt the car have color keyed door knobs? ..and what about the Shifter bezel?  Should'nt it be the bigger, Die-cast unit?

Could not see anything else wrong.. Nice job!

BRANT.
and all other forum users.

I was one of the judges who did actually judge this car at the grand national in Maryland.  Full praise to the owner,  car was fantastic hence the gold award in concours class.

i dont appreciate the negative tone of one of the members of this forum. he seems to want to make enemys not friends within the mustang community and the judging panel.  i dont travel to the other side of the world to make enemies within the mustang community, but there is a constant theme that is occuring.  it needs to end and end now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

some of us may never own a K code convertible or a pre-production 64 1/2, we may just be people who want to be part of a greater hobby and a ever growing appreciation of these cars.

The car is question was judged to the best standards of the team on the day.  Yes it may not be my favourite colour, year an body shape, but these ideas of the perfect car need to be put aside and the car was judge on merrit.
There where things i questioned with my team leader, the present NHJ and the former NHJ, just for clarification on my own behalf.

Remember i'm still learning as well!!!!!

Each car has individual history and created at a assembly plant that varies from the next plant and the procedding day of production

A privledge to judge the car.

End of conversation.

regards.

Man, I thought the Shelby peanut gallery was hard. I'm staying away from the 64-66 crowd. Seriously I agree with others comments. Why is it so important for some to tear apart another's car? It is bitterness and probably envy and there is no place for it in any aspect of life, hobby or not. I don't even know Brant or his car or Nate and as an unbiased bystander I tell you it is pretty obvious the comments made are totally inappropriate and mean spirited.

Hi Tony,

Thanks for the comments.  Well, I guess the term "64 1/2" was created by the hobby and is generally recognized as a car with a generator.  My car is an Aug. 10th production (on data plate, at least) and has an alternator, so it is not really a 64 1/2.

Anyway, I would have to look at my notes and stuff, but I believe that you see those larger color keyed door lock knobs disappearing sometime in June.  I think the parts book lists 6/5.  Maybe others with cars built around that time can comment.

The larger shifter bezel was used earlier too, but I'm really not certain when they stopped using those.

Brant - many thanks for the pictures and for sharing such a fine restoration of a very cool Kar.
