Torque Convertor markings
« on: January 02, 2012, 12:47:11 AM »
I was wondering if anybody has seen similar markings like this and if they might know what they stand for.  They are tough to read but it appears there are some numbers and letters in black ?7EY at the top right  and 14 at the lower left and 3 and squiggly in yellow in the middle.

Have seen similar ones before - no idea of what they meant to the sub contractor that supplied them or the workers at that plant.

At some point one could assume that the marks fall into one of the following reasons for being there

1- inspection (showing that it was inspected and passed or in this case - balanced)

2- person assembling it or inspecting the part

3- identification of the completed part or that particular part of the whole assembly
