Not a prototype but instead a styling exercise. Ford had a bunch of shops redesign the Mustang in 65 and they toured the country in  Ford sponsored show (Ford Car Caravan) . This car is still around waiting restoration - was named the Pegasus

Some of the designers include George Barris, the Anderson Brothers, Dearborn Tubing and others

Nothing in the original articles - only a couple off center shots shown (in the link above) in the German site
