AC hose straps
« on: February 10, 2013, 08:03:32 PM »
Were AC hoses attached to cowl braces with typical rubber straps (brass rivet type)?

That is what is expected - have not seen any originals (will check my pictures of period shots though) likely since they don't stay in place that long :(

Don't forget the metal straps also ;)

Here is a shot (though small block) from May 69 for Super Stock magazine. Though I don't really like magazine cars as examples its what I have - two straps on the passenger side shock tower support - can't see the drivers but would say its very likely since they were using them

Great picture. When you say metal straps I assume you are talking about the 2 that hold the ac lines together?

Tim that white mark on small a/c hose in photo is a paper tag FOMOCO c9za # & I was going to have ecs make it but never had a perfect 1 to copy. A/C cars used 2 rubber straps on both braces & metal bracket with bolt in middle & I rubber coated metal wrap strap.
