Intake Manifold Fitting
« on: January 21, 2014, 09:18:01 PM »
I'm looking for a Brass Tee that threads into the back of the 289 Intake Manifold. Does anyone have one they are willing to part with?

Thanks

Ray,
This is what I have (picture stolen from another web site, my part number may be incorrect). If interested, send me a PM.

Jim,

I appreciate your effort and response but unfortunately that is the incorrect part for my application. As best as I can find the part number for the tee I'm looking for is 375787-S or I can also use 375786-S by modifying it.

Thanks

Is it possible to get a better picture?

I have a small collection of brass and steel fittings from various Fords, in a drawer.

I copied part number 375786-S from "Ford Standard and Utility Parts Catalog, January 1965" printed by Osborn Reproductions (AM0202) page 44. The drawing was not that good so I "enhanced" it. The pipe threads are: M 1/4-18; F 5/8-18 & 7/16-24. P/n 375787-S is the same except the male thread is 3/8-18. P/n 375786-S is used for power brake and AT vacuum on early small block V-8 and 67 390 Mustangs. P/n 375787-S is used for the same except for 64-68 I-6 engines. Both are referenced in Ford Car Part as service items.

That helps some, the original picture makes it look like it does not have all 4 square corners on the top? Looks kind of rounded in the back in the picture?

Thanks Jim...the illustration you posted is definitely for the 6-Cylinder application and is the one I would prefer to find; all of your dimensions are correct as well. You're just the kind of person you hope to find in a forum like this; helpful and willing to spend some time finding this kind of information to post.

I've posted a far better photo of the 8-Cylinder Tee, it is rounded and I would be happy to find one of these as well. I will have to modify the 3/8 male thread; not too difficult, as long as the inverted flare female threads and seats are in good condition.

Thank you all.
