Since I've owned my '67, the remote mirror bezel has hung loosely out of the driver's side door panel. I think I'm missing something that's supposed to hold it in place. It looks like there should be something on the back side of the door panel to keep the remote assembly from pushing through the door panel. These are presumably reproduction door panels/inserts; maybe the hole is too large?

On the main shaft behind the adjusting knob that bezel or ring unscrews allowing you to push that part of the assembly through the door panel. There should be a sheet metal washer with a indexer, that normally mounts on the back side of the door panel that holes this assembly (along with the ring to apply tension) in place

There should be a keyed washer retainer that goes on the back side to keep it from coming through.

Thanks. Hope I don't have to buy a whole new assembly just to get that one retainer piece.

No need to by one I have plenty, just ask if you need one.
