1967 Shelby GT Vin Codes
« on: September 12, 2014, 11:04:47 AM »
There is a black, use to be blue,67 GT 500 up for auction on Ebay. The seller announces that though the block is a replacement there is no vin code. He says 67 blocks and I would guess 66's too had no vins. To confirm, this is clearly a mis- statement, right?
67' Shelby GT 350 nm blue/4sp/#0089
07' Shelby Super Snake 725hp/white/#0073
71' Mach 1 429cj grabber blue/4 sp./ac

Somewhat. 66 and 67 GT350's typically had the vin code stamped on the block . 67 GT500 on the other hand had the vin stamped on the block intermittently. The transmission regardless of 4 speed or auto was consistently vin stamped on both the GT350 and GT500 in 67  . I hope this helps .

As part of the inspection I would always suggest that a prudent buyer or agent inspect the casting and assembly dates also. As its very easy to make the claim of No VIns
