69 GT500 lower valance paint

(1/1)

Anghelrestorations:

Im working on a February 69 built GT500 right now and wanted to confirm the lower front valance has black on the back side and not body color.  Some pictures I grabbed from the unrestored section that show this.....

Bob Gaines:
Confirmation given that the backside is blacked out.  When the black out was done originally the front clip was all connected and sitting on a fixture prior to being fitted to the car. When the backside of the valance was blacked consequently some overspray from the valance black out paint can be seen on the adjoining inside fender too. That is if you want the most historically correct representation.

Anghelrestorations:
Ok Bob...yes thats a good point.  I did not think of the blackout overspray on the fenders.....thats a trick detail and will not be hard to duplicate....

Not hard at all to duplicate. I knew you would want to know is why I added that part. Best of luck.
