I am working on a 67 convertible and the coat hooks were different from the aftermarket.  I had the hooks re-chromed and put the originals back in.

Those are not like the original style, C4AB-62290253. The originals have three vertical "grooves". The above are "smooth".

No.

68 GT:
Okay, so the ones with the 3 vertical ?grooves? are correct for the 67 NJ coupe. But, I?m telling you that the ones I removed from the car are a match to the 65-66?s. You can see that in the pictures. The only explanation on how they got installed in the 67 I?m restoring is that they were installed at the factory, the cars build date is 5-11-67. As I said, this car has only been in our family since purchased new and would have no need to have replaced the coat hooks. My father in-law knows what has been done to the car since 1967, no interior modifications. So the only explanation has to be a mistake at the factory.

The question, if we follow the possibility, would be, what would 65-66 versions be doing sitting around the car assemble plant nine months after they stopped using them?

And of course if so yours would not be the only car with them so we need to look at other examples around the same production period

Guessing your car is somewhere around the 7T255xxx range?

68 GT:
7T01C246xxx, build date 5-11-67. I just can?t explain the smooth 65-66 coat hooks when the car is a one owner with no interior mods prior to the disassembly for the restoration.  But I understand what you?re saying.
