Title: H pipe
Post by: 67gta on May 19, 2020, 12:27:29 PM
Hey Folks,

Can a 71 Mustang 429 H pipe connect up to a 72 Torino 429? If not is there anyone selling a 72 Torino H pipe?

Jim

Might suggest you first start with looking at the 72 version of the MPC that are available for view. Likely not the same as far as part number and in turn different.  May provide enough details for you to rule it out. And old Chutney (s?) interchange might work but not sure where your going to get access to one of those now a days.

A place to start

Here is the info from the Mercury equivalent.  As expected the 1971 Cougar uses a 1971 Mustang D1Z part number, and the 1972 Montego uses a 1972 D2O part number.

I don't know if the drawings are to scale or not.

Probably not.
1970-71 429CJ and 1972 429 non-CJ (N-code) do not use the same exhaust manifolds. Probably came stock with a "Y" pipe?
