Starter Solenoid
« on: January 18, 2022, 12:51:56 PM »
Have have seen two different styles of starter solenoids on the 69 Boss 302 cars. Some have the terminal posts on the face and others have the posts on the sides. Was there a mid year change? if not, which one would be correct?
Thank you,
Mike

The two versions we see being used appear to be just different suppliers used by Ford during the later 60's. Seems that the company that made the flat style provided less that the more typical in 69 at all plants.

Not allot of period pictures of late 69 production but here is one of a very very early car and the rest are from unrestored example from about May through the end of production. Let you decide

Guess it would ne nice if I could find the time and graph 69 Dearborn cars (all engine types) and see if there is a pattern.

Thank you Jeff. That explains why I have seen both styles. Exactly the information that I was looking for.
Thanks again for your help,

I would expect the 69 b2 to have flat c9af type as the flat type  early c7af ended being made very late feb 69 looking at  the date codes.
