1966 Hertz Shelby Radiator
« on: March 30, 2022, 02:34:18 AM »
Hi

Can any one help me please? I am restoring a 1966 Hertz shelby and my radiator has no markings.   Are there supposed to be any markings, dates etc on the radiator tank?

Regards

Lou

Yes there should be a date along with a tag on it.

For clarification all factory 66 radiators have date codes but the SJ radiator in a 66 Shelby needs to have the date code raised up in the top of the tank .Dearborn and Metuchen radiators by contrast have the date code metal stamped into the side strap .

Attached is a picture of my radiator identification stamped on top of the tank for a 66 K GT FB with a C4 transmission. The date code on mine is 9-65 (my scheduled build date is Oct 18, 1965). Remember, that's a radiator for an automatic transmission.
