Title: Help looking for Dearborn January 1969 Leaf Spring Shackles
Post by: Sean C. Gearty on November 23, 2015, 04:51:42 PM
Any one familiar with a supplier making the correct leaf Spring shackles that the female side is more of a 3/4 moon? The original shackles I pulled off my car had a dome shape opening at the top where the tongue goes in, and were flat where the tongue gets bent over. Looking for replacements as the ones I have seen in the market are square holes.

Thanks for your help.

Are you referring to the spring clamps (they go around the spring leaves to hold them together) rather than shackles. They are only at the rear end of each set of springs.

Believe Jim @ Shelby Parts and Restoration has/makes/carries the round style of spring clamps

Hi Jeff,
Yes the Spring Clamps. Thanks for the tip on Mr. Cowles.

I checked the Shelby Parts website and nothing available under
the Boss or Shelby Suspension Parts listings.

If there are any other resources let me know.
Thanks again

Sent you a PM ;)

Sometime Jim makes limited/short runs of parts. Because they are short runs he often does not include them in his catalog
