Autolite Carb C5AF-AZ
« on: December 31, 2012, 02:18:38 AM »
Does anyone know what a C5AF-AZ Autolite carb was used on? The build date is: A5AD. The best I know is that is has 1.12 jets and likely to be a big block and non-Mustang application.

Thanks for any information,
Brad.

Not in Mannel's book, so it definitely is a big block carb.

It's used on 65 only full size Fords (maybe Mercury too) 352 and 390 engines with an automatic. At a swap meet years back (Good Guys in Pleasanton, CA), someone tried to sell me one as a "direct replacement" for a 289 HP carb. I passed laughing, (although it could be "adapted" to a 289 HP type.)
