Title: National Mustang Day
Post by: Hawkeye on April 12, 2016, 01:14:12 PM
How many are partaking?  My club is taking a 45 mile cruise in the country to a place to get a chicken dinner (which also happens to be a fund-raiser, so bonus points).  21 cars signed up last month.  Weather round these parts supposed to be 70 with no rain all week, so I'm expecting a few more will join in the parade on Sun.  This is our 3rd time doing something on April 17.

My same question.   And, would my bastard Futura be welcome?

Rockford, IL is where I currently hail from.  However, National Mustang Day is a world-wide event, with over 220 clubs participating.  I was guessing there would be a bunch of fellow Mustangers here that would be partaking of the joyous event.

Its a world-wide event indeed, and I plan to take my 'lil pony for a ride next Sunday..!!!
I know there are some other mustang owners around, but don't expect we can join and go altogether, pity we do not have any local club here yet, who knows in the future.! Anyway I will be out enjoying the drive of my car..!

Our club has done lots of advertising and have an open event all Mustangs welcome. We are meeting up at Auto Zone on the Arkansas side for a few hours then we have a police escort to the Texas side where we are meeting up with the Texarkana TX police who have 2 Mustangs and they are going to escort us to a show and shine event at a local restaurant.

Now that will be cool.  You have to get video.
Someone dropped by our Club meeting on Tues, and he's a video guy that has a YouTube project called "My Car" (I think I'm remembering that right).  Anyway, he saw all the Mustangs parked outside and had to come see what was going on, so he's coming out with us to record and put together a project for us.  Hopefully it turns out good.

20 cars and 38 members partook of the cruise, on an absolutely gorgeous 80 degree day.  And the chicken dinner was damn good, and went to a good cause, so it was a great way to celebrate.  I think we were only missing a 2nd gen out of the bunch, and even had 4 from before '67, so it was a good representation of the Mustang.  Lots of comments on the drive, even a lady on the back of a bike coming the other direction that was applauding as we passed.  A great time was had by all.

Indoor or outdoor?  I played back in the day, and did some reffing as well.

this was her indoor team. unfortunately they were taken out by a team that was playing down from a higher division.. though they probably wouldve won had a couple of the girls not been out with injuries. if people think concours shows are competitive - they have nothing on girls volleyball LOL

in the coming weeks she is going to give beach volleyball a shot

I like watching the beach game, but I wasn't much for playing it, I would wander down to Boca to play on the beach occasionally, but I prefer playing indoor.
And yeah, competitive is an understatement.
