Title: Remove Aluminized finish
Post by: sanluis09 on June 02, 2016, 01:34:33 PM
Hi, do someone knows if it's possible to remove the aluminized finish of the exhaust pipes? And how is this possible?

I need to change the over the axle pipe with the Resonator on my 65 Mustang, but I want to have the correct bare steel finish on the pipe.... As the pipe that I could get comes aluminized and fully welded with the Resonator and the intermediate pipe....I want to know if I can eliminate that aluminized finish without unwelding the pipe....  ???

The other option is to cut that pipe and weld a new one with the correct original finish.... what do you recommend me to do?

Here's a pic of part of the exhaust pipe with Resonator that I can get....

Thank you,

Luis
