Title: Pinion yoke U bolts
Post by: FXguy on January 08, 2017, 04:40:21 PM
Noticed two type of U bolts on 64 1/2 K codes.  One of these came off a 4E4 dated differential housing and the other off a 4F5.  One on the right has beefier shoulders in addition to having the circular indent on the top.  My 1964 parts and accessories manual show the same part used on 9 inch and 8 inch rear ends.

Anyone know if one or the other is correct for the time period?

Thanks,

-Scott

Not sure if I have anything to help specifically but just as a reminder the catalog will only show what Ford carried to service the part not what was originally used.

Sure some of the early K code guys should be offer some observations

Right Jeff, many instances of production parts being serviced by others.  I'm still hoping that someone will be able to sort this out.

Thank you,
