I was picking a 68 Montego yesterday with power windows and convenience control - by the way there is a lot of interchange of components with the Mustang on the latter. In the back seat was a battery heat shield dual marked as C7ZB-10B682-A and C7OB-10A682-A. I went to the library to check out the battery heat shield link to compare, but the link is broken - https://anghelrestorations.com/uploads/3/1/7/6/3176630/battery_heat_shield_v1.2.pdf.
I did search the site but this was not found. Any help appreciated

A similar situation occurred from another Library link to Marcus' site (last week).
My guess is Marcus updated his site.
Go to Anghelrestorations.com , click on Mustang Factoids, scroll down and click on the BATTERY image

Well there it is. Should have looked closer!

Here are some pictures. This would be the "early version", and molded in light gray plastic. It was in the back seat of a 68 Montego MX with AC, which should get a heat shield based on the MPC. However, a 1968 model year car and a "late 1966 or early 1967" date range don't add up.
There are about 20 1967 model year Mustangs and Cougars here, but none with A/C, which would be what to expect up here in the north. There is one S code 67 Mustang. Other than A/C, I don't recall what would drive this being installed on a Mustang or Cougar.

Your early shield has NOT been shortened for use on a Mustang.
