Title: 67 289 valve covers?
Post by: 68 GT on January 04, 2024, 12:11:16 AM
What do the valve covers look like for a 67 289-2V Sprint package? The valve covers I?ve located for the engine are just plain blue. No Powered By Ford or anything on them. Should the 67?s have Powered By Ford on them or are the plain ones correct?

Thanks for your assistance!

Yes, the 67-valve cover are plain. The power by Ford ones started in 68.

Here is the engine for the 67 I am building.

Thanks for the reply and the picture! I didn?t realize that Powered By Ford didn?t start until 68.

Nice engine paint, and the shade of Ford Blue looks right.  What paint resource was used?

I used Dupacolor Old Ford Blue. This is for a driver car and is a rattle can. For my concours builds I use a PPG epoxy.
