Title: Approximate "Crossover Date" from Generator to Alternator?

How late in August did the "64.5" Mustang continue. Did it go to Sept 1? Read that a "registry" of unknown origin, called for Sept. as the change date.

The changeover would have happened at the end of July/first week of August.  The date is really irrelevant as the 6 digit unit number determines if a car had an alternator or generator.

Starting at 250001 and higher at Dearborn = alternator
Starting at 125001 and higher at San Jose = alternator
