Title: Experiences With a New Motor Oil
Post by: Toploader on November 20, 2013, 04:28:46 PM
This season I ran a new oil in my engine: Z-Alt Muscle Car Oil 10W-30 (W/ Moly infusion and high levels of EP additives (zddp)).

I am very happy with this oil. I  believe the engine ran smoother. Definitely no clickety-clack from the valvetrain on start up. Even if the car had been sitting in the garage for some days. Just silence.

After warm up the car also ran considerably cooler than used to (measured by the car's temperature gauge). This "test" is by no means scientific, and not many miles have been covered this season. But for my part this oil is a winner.

Anyone else with experiences with this oil? Maybe for some longer time/more miles?

You could always send off for an oil analysis, believe the name of one is Blackstone Labs.  Best would be to do one analysis and do another after a set amount of mileage... usually between oil changes.

Never heard of the stuff. Just picked up some Brad Penn break in yesterday for the new motor in the Boss. Well order some more for after the initial period - cheaper than getting it somewhat local.
