Gas tank finish preservation.

  Getting ready to install a new fuel tank in this '66 convertible. Is there anything I can do to preserve the natural finish. Spray it with clear, or even just a coat of wax? The customer is mainly concerned with preventing corrosion. The car is going to see limited road use. Any ideas?

no clear ever. wipe it with boeshield.
