Blue clutch pedal return spring for 65/66?
« on: September 23, 2019, 03:08:53 PM »
Has anyone ever seen a blue clutch pedal return spring on a 65/66 car?  The big heavy spring above the pedal that attaches to the pedal support.

Sober? I have a NOS, C2AZ-7534-A built on a 1983 work order, that is semigloss black.

A '65 car I'm working on has it painted a powder blue.  I've never seen one like it in a 65/66, but there's also a well-known vendor selling a clutch/brake pedal setup advertised as 'new car take-off', with a deep blue painted spring.

Just want to make sure I didn't miss something, lol.

Got no examples painted/marked like you describe. There are later clutch springs painted in the fashion

I agree that the clutch pedal return spring would typically be semigloss black in 65/66.

The clutch pedal return spring under the dash is white. The two on the equalizer are blue.  Bill from Mansfield Mustang provided them.

Please review the OP's question -

The big heavy one under the dash is what the discussion is about not the small upper and lower springs.

I've seen a powder blue spring as well on a '65-66.  I thought it was weird when I saw it, but looking around, there was no evidence anyone had ever been in that area or taken the clutch pedal assembly apart before.
Too much junk, too little time.

They may be take off parts but they are restored take off parts . It is typical for JD Larson to restore his parts.

Yes! I have seen one as well, like a powder blue. I either still have it still on an assembly or it was in my 3 spd I6 car I sold. Let me look tonight Charles. I felt like it was something relating to six cylinder cars?

No luck. The several assemblies I have on hand are all black/light brown rust, lol.. I’m really thinking it was on my six cylinder car that I sold several years back. It was a 66’ Metuchen coupe.
