Topic: 64 1/2 trunk floor with drop offs

Here is a shot of a typical 65-66 trunk drop off. Don't have one from your car's period and plant but hopefully this will get the discussion going.  All the earlier ones I have were similar.  Sure other 64 1/2 guys can compare theirs and comment

Thank you for the picture.  I THINK that we have located a 64 1/2 that I will be able to take pictures off so that we can modify the parts that we have.  Would still like to see someone else's pictures of thier  64 1/2 in case my source doesn't work out.

I welded up all the holes in the vertical drop down surface on mine.

Below is a picture of my original (October 64).

The Dynacorn's are short like Bryan said, but at least for me, only a little, maybe 1/4" to 3/8 towards back by the valence. At the wheel opening, they were ok.

I replaced min while the 1/4's were still on so I could see just how short they were. If you look real close at the far left edge of the second picture, you can see where the 1/4 starts to stick below the drop off.

So just to verify - a 64 1/2 without backup lamps WILL or WILL not have the holes for the backlamp wire from the factory? - Dave

Yes, no holes in the drop-offs on 64 1/2 as well as 65 without factory back-up lights. They were optional in those years, mandatory from 66 on.
