How many gold wittek clamps were used on a 70 jan built metuchen boss 302 and the location on the smog system, thanks.

If we're just counting thermactor related ones (not ones used elsewhere in the engine compartment) think you only need two of the clamps. Both on the long hose from rear of the intake (check valve) to the gulp valve

Jeff - so you think the hose from diverter to smog pump uses a tower clamp both ends? I was thinking just on the top at the pump?

Yes at this point- But can't be sure and can't find a picture that will show that detail on an original car. Drawings of the system seem to suggest tower both ends but would welcome (as always) input from original cars :)

Sorry taking so long getting back to this one
For the band (heater hose style) clamp believe originally the clamp was galvanized with the nut and bolt being silver cad. The Witteck (S?) was either gold cad or zinc dichromate. Have never tested either to know for sure but that should give you the look

Thanks
