Hi, I was wondering what others are using to replace their condensors. I've been told by my ac guys and a few of the condenser manufacturers I've contacted. That the originals can't be cleaned internally very well and should be replaced. Opinions on whose is closest for Concourse driven class ? Thanks, Ron

I don't know if it's considered concours-correct, but you can buy a new, more efficient replacement condenser from Classic Auto Air. They sell through vendors like NPD, too.

My fittings are rusted/corroded so I'm going to have to replace parts. Its the original and has been open to the environment for the past 25 years. I think it wold be best to just get a new one then trust this even if I could get it to hold pressure/vacuum on the bench. I was looking at what NPD is selling. While I have it all out I'm going to go ahead and replace the heater core as well. Not so easy to see in the photo due to the angle but the core's fittings and expansion valve are not in good shape.

Hi, Thanks, for the Classic Auto Air referral. I had forgotten about them. I ordered it and it's on it's way. As far as your Shelby AC box. I would take the time to restore it. I restored my 69 Cougar 428 CJ specific box and it turned out great. Almost as bad a condition as yours.

My box is going to be repaired. It has a crack in one area running out under a rivet, and the molded in drain tube is broken off. Both easily repaired. Otherwise I'm replacing the entire A/C hard parts system with one from Classic Air. While I was in Tampa on a trip I picked up the under hood kit. Now that I get to see the evaporator and related parts I'll order them and a heater core through NPD.
