I'm rebuilding my 2100 carb. The various parts on the outside of the carb, like linkage pieces for the choke and throttle, have a lot of oxidation and even a little rust. What's the best way to restore these parts?
Thanks for your help!

Remove, clean and replate
Often there are multiple finishes - some that can be done at home while others are better shipped to a service. Problem is that there are only a few "bits" in total so the minimum cost for plating will be much higher (in most cases) per item than if you get allot of pieces plated at the same time.
If you go the rattle can fake plating it will be noticeable IMHO

Thanks for the info. Yes, I agree about the rattle can. I would rather leave as is than take that path.

If you are not up to the task you can have it rebuilt and replated. This fellow seems to get decent reviews. I've never used him so be sure to do your homework, search the forums and give him a call if interested. He's charging $165 to do a Autolite 2100.

Most shops today will just plate all the linkage dichromate so expect to disassemble some of it when it returns so you can refinish what is needed correctly.
Just to much of a hassle for the shops I guess and not enough owners notice or know any differently. Everything is clean and pretty ::)

Good info. Sounds like a question to ask KP Carbs.
